"Duel Ender"
A few years later it dawned on me: If Xonox had Double Ender carts, why can't I have an Atari Duel Ender?  Combat and Combat 2 in one cart case?  With some creative art, bankswitching pcb, and a little TLC, my Combat Duel Ender was done.  I think its cool, anyway!
When Marc Oberhauser released Combat 2 in 2001, I was blown away.  I was one of those standing in the madhouse rush to get those precious few copies.  Sadly, I was foolish and traded away my copy for something I though I would love more (editorial note: Don't trade a limited edition something for a common something else!). Alas, I was without one of the greatest '"dueling" games of all time....
Vectrex Stuff
I have always loved Vectrex.  I can remember when they hit the clearance bins, and I could not WAIT to get one.  Of course, being in 5th grade, I did not exactly have the money to get it.  It would not be until Philly Classic 2 in 2001 that I finally picked one up.  I have been addicted ever since.
For
CGExpo, I made one of the Genesis controllers for my spare Vectrex.  Not the easiest thing to do, but do-able with some experience.  Plans can be found HERE. Super fun to play, and makes it easy to have two controllers (nobody will sell their originals!)I also decided I wanted to make a universal cartridge that would let me play ROMS on my Vectrex.  So, with the help of my EPROM burner and some soldering skills, I made a ZIF socketed cart for my Vectrex.  I used an old Scramble cartridge as the donor (I'll need to get another one sometime soon, as I now have an empty box!).  I even made a label (HERE).  Use it if you like!  The Vectrex can use a standard 2732 for 4K games.  I have not experimented (but I will!) with other games/EPROMS, but I know the 2732s plug right up.  Slick little system.
